The crack down and genocide on civil population of
Bangladesh by the Pakistani occupation army started at mid night of 25
March 1971. Nirmul Committee marks this event as the "Night of
Holocaust". Each year on 25 March night NC organizes public meeting and
candle light procession from central Shahid Minar to the killing field
of Jagannath Hall where several hundred innocent people were buried on
the following days i.e. 26 and 27 March, 1971.

This year leaders of the armed forces and civilian freedom fighters of
the Liberation War attended the rally at Central Shahid Minar holding
torch and led the procession to pay tribute to the martyrs' of
