The accused was in charge of field intelligence
unit at Jessore Cantt. at least from March 1971 till the surrender.
He appears to have had responsibility for the collection of
political intelligence and submission of intelligence reports of the
political situation in that area. He was also in charge in this
connection with the interrogation and screening of Bangalee military
and civilian personnel with a view to executing the plan of
genocide. At least 900 persons were brought before him interrogated
and in many cases tortured under his order and or supervision.
Several persons thus interrogated later died. The accused appears to
'have specialized in devising ingenious instruments of torture. |
